I have respect for knowledgeable David especially with his passion for Jades and becoming part of the Jade journey history in the west, that only few westerner have managed succeed in achieving to acquire Jades from China and, made it accessible also affordable to people from all over the world. I was aware of Jades through books and museums however, experiencing the shared David's Jade journey that started seven years ago with Jade collectors/community on Gemporia has really connected with me as a designer on many levels. Jades have been guarded and hidden treasure of the far East and David through his hard diligent work and by personal financial borrowing and becoming a business David Harry Jewels partnered with a highly reputable Jade House team in China. By doing so has managed to acquire Chinese lab certified - true Mutton Fat Jade that has less than 51% Marble mineral it. Anything above is Nephrite which is equally held in high esteem. Mutton Fat Jade being the Jade that started the Jade journey over 3000 years ago is now prohibited to being mined. China has curtailed all it's Mutton Fat Jade material and what David has mentioned his good friend Stanley Chu had told him that no Jade House will be carving rounds for strands and bangles. Also will be reserved for their endless budget clients. DHJ Mutton Fat Jade is over 100 years old material and has a beautiful glow like the moon and texture like tracing paper that's milky white. I have purchased from DHJ the Khotan Mutton Fat Jade Phoenix Carved Rope Necklace as I had purchased one of before in a DHJ Mutton Fat show on Gemporia because the intricate liner carving of the feminine Phoenix with her five virtue feather tail is better suited for earrings I feel and that's what I aim do with them with other gemstones but retaining it subtle and reserved manners of Mutton Fat Jade.
I would like to add that the recent Mutton Fat Jade show on Gemporia left me emotionally tearful, the pure beautiful Mutton Fat Jade and the meaningful artistry with a what I felt was deeper representation touched my soul. Thank you David I appreciate everything you do 🙏🏼x
