IMPERIAL DREAMING: FROM MINE TO MARKET

IMPERIAL DREAMING: FROM MINE TO MARKET

Over the last few years, Imperial Jadeite has captivated the West, drawing significant investments from esteemed high jewellers such as Asprey, Boghossian, Cartier, and Moussaieff. This coveted gemstone now commands attention at the most prestigious auction houses, often remaining beyond the reach of many enthusiasts.

The scarcity of Imperial Jadeite has been exacerbated by the ongoing situation in Myanmar, the world's primary source. Additionally, the tradition of jadeite being treasured and passed down within families for generations further restricts the availability of prime examples boasting the most saturated green hue. Consequently, these exceptional specimens rarely surface in the market, contributing to the astronomical prices witnessed today.

In the realm of jadeite, achieving the ideal green colour saturation is not the foremost consideration. Instead, the paramount factor lies in the quality of the crystal, often referred to as "water." This term denotes the internal compression within the stone, yielding the coveted polycrystalline structure that renders the piece translucent. Striking a balance between intense green hue and transparency proves to be an exceedingly challenging feat for Mother Nature, resulting in rarity that often translates to unattainable prices.

I envision David Harry as the catalyst in bridging the gap between the Far East and the West, bringing this cherished treasure to a broader audience. My aspiration is for these exquisite jadeite pieces to transcend generations, becoming timeless heirlooms treasured for their unequivocal beauty and significance. The tradition of preserving fine jadeite within families serves to connect present custodians with their ancestors in a deeply meaningful manner, a practice deeply ingrained in the cultural fabric of the Far East

For the past four years, I've dedicated myself to crafting a unique collection of Intense Green Type A Glassy Jadeite. My mission has been to offer this exquisite gem in a more accessible manner, making luxury attainable for a wider audience. This collection stands as a testament to this endeavour, potentially the sole of its kind available worldwide.
